Sermon Reference: Bishop T.D. Jakes: “Let it Go”

Sermon Deliverance: West Angeles Church in Christ

Sermon Scripture: Psalm 23

Key Sermon Points:

  • To bring you in a state of calm rather than chaos that you may be experiencing around you. If I were the devil I would try to keep you busy and distracted. He also tries to bring the chaos ‘in’ you to the detriment and interference of what God wants to do through you.

  • Keep what is around you from getting ‘in’ you and from interfering with what God has placed in you.

  • Operate from a calm and still (green pastures and still waters) places so that God can bring his purpose in you to fruition.

  • Take back all that the enemy / devil has stolen from you.

  • The enemy tries to put you on a path to self-destruction and limit your self esteem though you know there is greatness in you.

  • The enemy knew you were going to great so he came to attack you early in life to prevent you from going where God has destined you to go. Likely you have experienced fighting, struggle all your life and have been through all sorts of things.

  • Do not limit your vision to your situation rather live a goal driven life deciding in the morning to make something happen rather than see what is going to happen.

  • There is not a disease God can not heal!

Resulting negative emotions (that can put you in a prolonged state of disease):

  • Frustration

  • Guilt

  • Anger

  • Hostility

  • Fighting

  • Stress

  • Bitter

  • Pain

  • Unforgiveness

Nonetheless God forces us to lay down in GREEN pastures / places

Green Relationships

Green Opportunities

Green Moments in Life

Being hooked on things like drama can keep you from GREEN pastures. However, green pastures allow you to think clearly, remember and evolve.

Negative emotions feed the enemy/devil. Rather this energy and time should be spent feeding your:

  • Purpose

  • Prosperity

  • Happiness

  • Vibrance

  • Peace

  • Finances

  • Creativity

  • Dreams

  • Destiny

  • Personality

  • Confront and Resolve Conflicts

  • God Restores

  • You may walk through the Valley of Death. Yet the battle is the Lord’s and his rod and staff shall comfort thee. You do not have to defend or fight.

  • God will set a table before you and give you a choice to eat at the table before your enemies or to feed the enemy.

Sermon Health Analysis:

Negative emotions cultivated by (spiritual) attacks can manifest a prolonged state of disease. While short-term disease maybe experienced and can be beneficial such as an appropriate response to actions (i.e. fear in moments of danger). Nonetheless, TD Jakes encourages us to experience these feelings and then “Let it Go!” returning to a state of ease or as the bible states ‘Joy’. Do not dwell is disease rather in the presence of God. God wants to HEAL you (in many manners). Praise God!

End of Sermon Analysis

Often ‘medical professionals’ attempt to medicate the physical manifestations of emotions such as frustration or anger if not properly spiritually addressed can lead to what physical manifestations of disease, which man have coined and named all sorts of things in the name of profit and ‘solutions’ that do not get at the root cause of the matter.
