Two months after creating international headlines with their bombshell sit-down interview, Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey next joint project—a documentary series on mental health for Apple TV+—is set to come out later this month.

Oprah made an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show on Friday alongside Dr. Bruce D. Perry, a psychiatrist and the co-author of her book, What Happened To You?: Conversation on Trauma, Resilience, and Healing to announce that after years of working on a series with the royal it will finally premiere this month. After discussing their book at length, Oprah added, “I want to just say that Dr. Perry and I have been also, for the past two years, along with Prince Harry and Apple, we’ve been working on this mental health series that’s coming out in May on Apple.” Speaking to her best friend Gayle King on CBS in 2019 about the forthcoming project, the talk show legend explained how she and the Duke of Sussex came to work together. “I asked [Prince Harry] the question, ‘What do you think are the most important issues facing the world right now?’ and he said, ‘There are two’… He said climate change and mental wellness, mental fitness, and mental health. So it’s a passion of his and, at the end of the conversation, I said, ‘Oh, I’m going to be doing this thing with Apple. It’s a big concern of mine too and I want to try to erase the stigma,’ and he said at the end of the conversation, ‘If there’s anything I can do to help.’”

When news of the documentary series and Prince Harry’s role as co-creator and executive producer were first announced in April 2019, the royal said at the time, “I truly believe that good mental health—mental fitness—is the key to powerful leadership, productive communities and a purpose-driven self. It is a huge responsibility to get this right as we bring you the facts, the science and the awareness of a subject that is so relevant during these times.” He continued, “Our hope is that this series will be positive, enlightening and inclusive—sharing global stories of unparalleled human spirit fighting back from the darkest places, and the opportunity for us to understand ourselves and those around us better. I am incredibly proud to be working alongside Oprah on this vital series which we have been developing together for several months.” Harry has been an outspoken mental health advocate in the past, discussing how he went to therapy to cope with the death of his mother Princess Diana and co-founding Head Together, a mental health awareness campaign, with his brother Prince William and Kate Middleton.
