Pastor Cora Jakes-Coleman is the Children’s Ministry Pastor & Director at the Potter’s House, where her father, Bishop T.D. Jakes, is the senior pastor. She talked with Erica Campbell about her book., “Faithing It,” and her blog, “Fertility Faith,” snd why faith is so important to her. She explains that when she was 22, she was diagnosed with a condition that makes conceiving really difficult. She asked God what it meant, and how she could use such a thing to help others, and she says that God responded with the notion that the world is where “faith is infertile in his daughters and in his sons.”
So, Cora says, she made a decision to speak faith into people having trouble producing their dreams, purposes and promises from God. She also talks about her history with prayer, and how she “prays on the level of her faith.” She says she always knew that in order for her prayers to be effective, she had to plant them by faith. She explains that she realized early on that whatever she asked for, God would exceed it. Plus, Cora gives advice to people on praying powerfully and effectively, and how she and her husband go about praying for each other.
