Recycling Drop-Off Centers: For Non-Curbside Recycling

The City of Norfolk offers two recycling drop-off facilities for Norfolk residents. These sites are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and accepts the same items for recycling that are accepted in the curbside collection program.

Center Locations

  • Waste Management - 1176 Pineridge Road

  • Towing and Recovery - 1188-A Lance Road

Special Event Recycling Program

  • Keep Norfolk Beautiful offers the Special Event Recycling Program (S.E.R.P.) to loan recycling collection bins to provide easy recycling opportunities at special events hosted by businesses and organizations in Norfolk.

Electronic Waste, Household Hazardous Waste, and Shredding 

  • Shredding: Towing & Recovery, 1188-A Lance Road. (757) 823-1093

  • Document Shredding: Shredding services are available Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 10:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

  • Electronic Waste (E-Waste):

  • As of April 14, 2023, electronic waste (e-waste) is no longer accepted at Towing and Recovery, 1188-A Lance Road. Norfolk residents must take all e-waste to the Norfolk SPSA Transfer Station located at 3136 Woodland Avenue, free of charge. Residents can drop off e-waste at the transfer station on Tuesdays & Saturday, noon - 4:00 PM.  E-waste must be delivered in a personal vehicle. There is an e-waste disposal limit of five items per visit. Commercial e-waste is not accepted. View a list of acceptable items (PDF).

  • Household Hazardous Waste: SPSA Norfolk Transfer Station, 3136 Woodland Avenue. (757)-961-3981.

  • Types of Household Hazardous Waste

  • Electronics are now accepted for recycling at this location. 

  • Hours: 

  • Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 12 p.m. for commercial and Norfolk residents

  • Saturday noon - 4:00 p.m. for Norfolk residents only             

  • Sunday noon - 4:00 p.m. for Norfolk residents only               

  • HHW & E-Waste Disposal - Every Tuesday and Saturday, 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
