Jacqueline Kennedy’s Rose Garden Shidonna Raven Garden and Cook
The Whitehouse Rose Garden was established in 1913 by Ellen Louise Axson Wilson and has been with us for over a century. During times of great struggle many people begin gardens. In fact the Rose Garden was begin as a Victory Garden during a time when the United States was at war and there were food shortages. Yet again we see that during the pandemic many people are inspired to begin their own gardens each person with a particular reason of their own. How could you and your family benefit from a garden? What type of garden would you plant floral, vegetable, fruits? Why do you think gardens are popular during times of economic distress? Share your comments with the community by posting them below.
