The Caprese salad is a simple wonderful salad we like to enjoy year around, but it is great during the summer. It is an Italian salad. Some would say it is a Greek salad. We are going to go with Greek, since that is how we were introduced to the salad and since Roman / Italian history is full of Greek inspiration from art to architecture to food. Enjoy!
The Carpse salad is an
YIELD: Serves 4 PREP TIME: 10 minutes
INGREDIENTS
3 to 4 medium ripe tomatoes (about 1 1/2 pounds), sliced 1/4-inch thick
1 pound fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced into 1/4-inch-thick rounds
1/2 cup packed fresh basil leaves
Flaky sea salt
Freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
