Harvesting Basil

Harvesting Basil

Sweet Basil went to its new home along with Echinacea. Included in this article is a video on how to harvest Sweet Basil. Below is also a link describing how to care for Sweet Basil indoors or in a container. Both Sweet Basil and Echinacea were brought outdoors and put in pots before going to their new homes. One thing that is important to remember is that plants can go into shock. Taking a plant from outdoors to indoors can cause shock due to a lack of fresh air, sun exposure and a difference in water intake. So, it is very important to watch how your plants react to the difference in environment when you bring them home. Ease them into their new environments. Leave them out doors for a while and gradually bring them inside. Note how much light and fresh air they need and place them in the right place inside. What do you noticed about the plants you bring home? How do they adjust to their new environments? What type of care instructions do you get with them?
