And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in mortar, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, [was] with rigour.

As the Exodus scripture above details, the traditional faith of Christianity defines freedom as the being free from bondage. While secular freedom maybe the freedom to drink strong alcohol or to marry within the same sex.

12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

As Paul points out to us in 1 Corinthians although one maybe able to do a thing, does not make it beneficial. So, while it maybe permissible by law and cultural acceptable, it does not mean that it is acceptable in the kingdom of God. Furthermore, certain and such practices could lead to bondage.

How can secular practices impact your health? Why? What are your religious beliefs?
