2. “LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.” — Psalm 30:2

The healing that God promises us historically has been both a spiritual and physical action. The spiritually mature or religious leaders know faith without works is dead and true healing likely goes well beyond a single prayer and requires spiritual work.

Nonetheless, western medicine as we know it began in the late 1800s via science which has its roots not in religion as we know it but pagan and satanic beliefs that consider themselves a type of religion. Looking at the history of science is a murky one as it came to be during a time when pagan and satanic beliefs became marginalized and attempted to blend with popular religions of the time of its inception. These beliefs had once been more main stream before the collapse of the Roman Empire and the advent of Constantinople within the Roman Empire.

Traditionally healing and consequently health involved a spiritual as well as a physical element.

Traditionally, religious leaders (as we commonly know them: Christianity, Catholicism, Islam, etc.) and / or family helped family members address healing and health needs as well as counseling that helped people navigate the seasons of life and the healing needs that may ensue.

What are your religious beliefs? How do you understand modern western medicine? How does this impact your health care decisions?
