In a welterweight clash between Belfast rivals, Lewis Crocker (18-0, 10 KOs) power his way to a dominant ten round unanimous decision over Tyrone McKenna (23-4-1, 6 KOs).
The scores were 100-90, 100-90 and 98-92.
Crocker went right after McKenna in the first and seemed to stun him with heavy punches. McKenna was making the mistake of standing right in front of Crocker, who was unloading with power shots to the head and body. McKenna was trying to fire back, with Crocker not bothered at all by the punches.
The second was more of the same, with Crocker's bigger punches and constant aggression controlling the action. The face of McKenna reddening. Crocker continued to bang away at the head and body of McKenna, who was doing a little better with movement.
McKenna was boxing much better in the third, but he was still being tagged by the heavier blows. In the fourth and fifth, McKenna began to take Crocker's shots a lot better and was using a good jab during spots. The fight was becoming a closer contest, but Crocker still had the edge with workrate and more telling connects.
Crocker and McKenna spent parts of the sixth taunting each other. McKenna was letting his hands go more often, but also taking punches. In the seventh, Crocker was connecting with a lot of big punches. McKenna would be hold on, more than once, to weather the storm.
Mckenna came out firing in the eight round. McKenna was looking to turn the tide as Crocker wasn't as active as he'd been in previous rounds. The ninth was a give and taken affair, with Crocker connecting with the bigger punches. During certain spots McKenna was doing more talking than fighting while being tagged. In the tenth and final round, it was more of the same with Crocker controlling things with power punch combinations.
