Frank Sanchez: “I Don’t Think Any Of The Fighters At The Top Are At My Level”

Getting a top name into the ring hasn’t been easy for Frank Sanchez. Actually, it’s been downright impossible.

Although it isn’t what he would prefer, Sanchez has taken what he could get. In 2023, the 31-year-old spent his time focusing on activity as opposed to fighting top-tier competition.

Against Daniel Martz, Sanchez barely broke a sweat, stopping his man in the first round. A few months later, a matchup with Scott Alexander was much of the same.

Before pulling the curtains down on his 2023, Sanchez (24-0, 17 KOs) was given arguably the most difficult opponent of his career in Junior Fa. Despite having somewhat of a name, Fa was run out of the building, losing via seventh-round stoppage.

Winning is salient to the 31-year-old but facing the best of the best is his number one priority. Unfortunately for Sanchez, most of the top names are pretty occupied. Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are tied up for two fights with all of the heavyweight titles on the line.

Anthony Joshua and Filip Hrgovic are likely to meet up at some point next year. Also, Joseph Parker, Zhilei Zhang, and Daniel Dubois, after bagging big-time wins in 2023, are hoping to get title shots.

Patience, whether he likes it or not, has to be Sanchez’s best friend. As he continues to bide his time, Sanchez is envisioning how things will play out when he reaches the elite level.

According to most, it isn’t a guarantee that he’ll defeat all of the heavyweight division’s top dogs. From his perspective, however, not only does he believe he’ll knock down every and anyone he faces, but more importantly, he isn’t convinced he’ll have an incredibly hard time doing so.

“I don’t think any of the fighters at the top are on my level,” Sanchez told a group of reporters. “Whoever comes my way, I’ll be ready for them.”
