Frank Martin may not say much outside of the ring, but fans of the lightweight contender are demanding answers.

It never mattered who was mentioned, Martin always believed that no one in the lightweight division could beat him in the ring. With Devin Haney officially moving up in weight, Shakur Stevenson, along with Gervonta Davis, is viewed as the best 135-pounder around. Martin though, disagrees.

Just a few days ago, the boxing world stood up and applauded Martin (18-0, 12 KOs) as it was reported that he agreed to take on Stevenson in either mid-November or early December. Yet, as fans began drooling and fantasizing over their showdown, Martin, on a whim, pulled out. At the moment, it’s unknown why Martin opted out. Whether his excuse is a valid one or not, Stevenson (20-0, 10 KOs) isn’t interested in what he had to say. Across every single one of his social media platforms, Stevenson has chastised Martin, going as far as to say that he is ducking him.

The Detroit native, unlike most of his lightweight contemporaries, isn’t the biggest user of social media. For several days now, he sat back and listened to fans that once loved him, turn their back on him. He also zipped his lips and allowed Stevenson to say whatever was on his mind.

However, during the midst of his rant, something struck a chord with Martin. Stevenson, in addition to ripping his man, Stevenson placed several duck emojis on his Twitter/X account. Having heard enough, Martin turned on his cell phone, opened up Twitter/X, and finally responded. He didn’t indicate what the main reason was for him leaving Stevenson at the negotiating table. He also didn’t say what’s next on his radar. He simply sent out a succinct answer before getting back to his quiet, out-of-sight and out-of-mind manner. “I ain’t duck sh!t,” stated Martin.
