Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona - Darius “DFG” Fulghum (10-0, 9 KOs) successfully defended his WBA Continental USA super middleweight title against his most experienced opponent to date, the crafty Alantez “SlyAza” Fox (28-6-1, 13 KOs), in a 10-round contest that went the distance.

Fulghum landed a number of powerful shots throughout the fight, but the crafty Fox was able to outmaneuver and stay resilient.

The judges awarded the majority decision win to Fulghum with scores of 98-92, 95-95, and 100-90.

For Fulghum, it was his first fight to last the entire distance. He previously stopped every opponent within six rounds of action.

Fox was coming back from three consecutive defeats, with two of them being stoppage losses.

The bout with Fulghum was not easy on the eyes, with a lot of holding and rough tactics applied by both.

Fulghum had hoped to make a statement with a big knockout over an experienced opponent, but he was able to go ten full rounds and there are obviously things that he needs to work on for the future.

“I’m really disappointed in my performance tonight. I really wanted to impress the crowd tonight, but at the end of the day, I’m glad that I had the experience because I needed those rounds,” said Fulghum.

“Fox is a tough veteran, and I learned a lot about myself in this fight. I can't wait to go back into the gym, take the lessons I learned, and improve."
