Daniel Jacobs is calling for a clash against WBC middleweight titlist Jermall Charlo. “I’m not beefing with anybody, but everyone knows I’ve been wanting for years to fight Jermall Charlo,” said Jacobs in an interview with Elie Seckbach of ESNews.

“That’s the fight that I still want. I don’t know what’s going on with it. I’m ready for that fight, mentally and physically. We’ll see what happens in the future. “I got one or two more in me. I’m looking for the right fight. I ain’t looking for no step aside, no fill-in fights. It’s been a few years since I’ve been calling out people, and I haven’t received any feedback. I’m just waiting for the right fight, but like I said, the time will come.”

If a potential fight were to take place, aside from the sizable sums they'd be asking for, the weight for which the bout would be contested would be one of the bigger sticking points. The 36-year-old Jacobs (37-4, 30 KOs) is a two-time 160-pound champion who has fought exclusively at super middleweight since 2019.

Jacobs last fought in February 2022 and lost a split decision against John Ryder.

The “Miracle Man” has beaten Gabriel Rosado and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in his only other fights at 168 pounds. The 33-year-old Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs) has been inactive since 2021.
