Boxing Results: Jose Zepeda Defeats Neeraj Goyat!

At the Domo Alcalde, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, on Saturday over DAZN, Fernando Beltran (Promociones Zanfer) and Oscar De La Hoya (Golden Boy Promotions) in the main event presented former WBC Silver super lightweight champion Jose “Chon” Zepeda defeated India’s Neeraj “Gangster” Goyat over ten lopsided rounds. In the main event, super lightweight southpaw Jose “Chon” Zepeda, 36-3 (27), #146.6, of La Puente, CA, defeated Neeraj “Gangster” Goyat, 17-4-2 (7), #146.6, of Chandigarh, IND, over ten lopsided rounds. In the first three rounds, Zepeda controlled backing up Goyat the entire three rounds. In the fourth round, Goyat started clowning around, losing another round. Goyat started fighting well off the ropes in the seventh round, though not enough to take the round. In the ninth round, Zepeda continued having Goyat against the ropes on the defense. In the tenth and final round, Goyat continued raising his arms, going from orthodox to southpaw to no avail, taking a beating. The referee was Manuel Rivera.

Super Welter Carlos “Chema” Ocampo, 35-2 (23), of Ensenada, Baja California, MEX, stopped late sub Mauricio “El Bull” Gutierrez, 7-2 (5), of San Luis, Potosi, MEX, after four rounds of a 10. In the first three rounds, Ocampo controlled the entire round backing up late sub Gutierrez. In the fourth round, Ocampo drew blood from the nose of Gutierrez, who is taking a beating in this mismatch. In between rounds, the fight was stopped.


The referee was Manuel Rivera. Featherweight Rafael “El Divino” Espinoza, 20-0 (17), Guadalajara, Jalisco, MEX, stopped Rafael Rosas, 18- 3-2 (10), of Mazatlan, Sinaloa, MEX, at 2:44 of the third round of a 10. In the first two rounds, the much taller Espinoza had his way, forcing Rosas to back up the entire time. In the third round, Espinoza gave a beating to Rosas, causing the referee Manuel Rivera to call a halt. Super Middle Aaron “Superman” Silva, 12-0 (9), of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, MEX, stopped Jaime “El Hulzi” Hernandez, 10-9 (4), of Aguascalientes, MEX, at 2:47 of the fourth round of a 8.

In the second and third rounds, Silva, the aggressor, was controlled with little offense from Hernandez. In the fourth round, Silva’s cut running between his eyes lands a low blow giving Hernandez a rest. When the fight resumed, Silva was all over Hernandez landing a flurry of punches, dropping him, and forcing the referee to call a halt. Super Feather Miguel “Mickey” Angel Torres Nunez, 11-1 (6), of Guadalajara, Jalisco, MEX, Kevin “El Konan” Montiel Mendoza, 6-2-2 (3), of Mexico, MEX, 8 rounds. Diego Torres, 17-0 (15), of Zapapan, MEX, defeated Jose Segura, 5-12 (3), of Puerto Vallarta, MEX, over ten rounds.
