Telford - Top light heavyweight contender Anthony Yarde (23-2, 22 KOs) stayed busy by blasting out Stefani Koykov (14-2, 12 KOs) in three rounds.
Yarde now moves forward to a mandatory fight with WBO, IBF, WBC world champion Artur Beterbiev in January. The fight will take place on January 28 at OVO Arena Wembley.
It was a slow first round, with Yarde just feeling Koykov out. Koykov came charging out in the second, firing big shots at Yarde. Yarde was taking his time, waling Koykov down and picking his punches to the head and body. Koykov was hurt to the body in the closing moments. In the third, Yarde continued to press forward with well-timed punches to the body and then to the head. Yarde's consistent jab was setting a lot of the punches up. Koykov was starting to fade from the big shots. An uppercut sent Koykov down hard and the fight was waved off.
